Greeting Reasonable Dieters!
Sometimes I used to concede that dieting was hard. But no longer, I’m insisting that my clients just eliminate the word “hard” from their vocabulary. Why? Because the more you tell yourself it is so, the more it will be true. AND because I know that if you’ve spent some time trying to lose weight you know that there are “easy” weeks and there are “hard” weeks and it mostly has to do with your attitude. If you sometimes think dieting is
I’m celebrating that my husband, who is a therapist and I have just hired an administrative assistant. She’ll be helping me keep get information like this newsletter, blog updates and podcasts to you on a more regular basis. So far so good. AND hiring her has allowed us to book a 2-week vacation in late May. We are going to Bonaire for some snorkeling, biking, reading, and loving. hmmm. oh yeah ... life is good.
I hope you are loving your life too. If you are struggling, perhaps you would like to consider some life/diet coaching. I’m just a phone call away if you would like a free 15 minute consultation.
All my best,
Sandra

Greek strained yogurt.
I can’t believe I actually bought one, but I did. Staples office supply store has a big red button that when pressed says, “That was easy.” I love it.
It’s totally true: Weight loss is easy. It really is. As soon as you want it bad enough to adopt a can-do attitude – you will find easy ways to lose weight too.
Getting back into summer clothes and discovering that, well, shall we say, winter clothes were a little more forgiving – this is a time of year when many folks suddenly acquire that can-do attitude.
Are you ready to push the “That was easy” button?
Are you ready to get rid of those extra jiggles? Really ready? Well good. Because it’s easy!
Read my ABC’s of easy weight loss here.
Yes, there are 26 ABCs, but no, you don’t have to do all 26. Pick the ones you are willing to do for a week. Pick all those that appeal to you in an easy manner. This is totally about you combining a can-do attitude with a little bit of focus.

Use breakfast to break
your plateau.
Shake free from a plateau.
When you are on a plateau (neither losing or gaining weight – though you are trying to lose), the first thing to do is assess whether it is an attitude-induced plateau or an actual physical plateau.
Attitude-induced plateaus are what I call the state when your mentality is keeping you from doing what you were doing before … and yet you haven’t moved onto doing something new. You need to look for what you are willing to do in the way of making sure you have more calories out than calories in.
Today, however, I’m going to focus on one solution to physical plateaus. Before I tell you this solution, you need to determine that you are not eating too few calories. If that is the case, your body thinks it is starving, so your metabolism slows down to save the energy and a plateau may ensue.
If you have determined you are not consuming too few calories, and it isn’t just an attitude-induced plateau, then most experts recommend “changing things up.” Your body gets too used to a certain routine, and the metabolism adjusts and slows down. Advice varies from changing exercise routines to changing the amount of calories you eat on a daily basis – some days low, some days higher.
But my first recommendation is to have a different breakfast everyday for one week. This is a relatively easy thing to change, and it very often works like magic and it’s kind of fun.
Here is a link to one week of breakfast ideas.

Parsnips need love too.
