I started working with Sandra in Sept., I had 20 pounds to lose and her promise of losing 20 pounds by Christmas caught my eye. I started with the RD support group.  It was a small teleconference group and we had ample time with Sandra working out the details of what reasonable eating was to each of us. I like the approach of the reasonable diet. Each individual reflects on what works for him/her and also on  what is realistic. The whole following a diet has never worked for me until it was a diet of my own creation. Sandra helped me figure that out. Well I did not lose my 20 pounds by Christmas, but I got half way there and then lost the rest by May. That worked out perfect for me as my body got enough time to readjust to my new weight.

Your reasonable approach is exactly what I need right now… I have taken off weight in the past and then let it creep back. I had been beating myself up because I of not been focusing enough on weight loss (and I have really good reasons, positive and negative, to motivate me). 

Because of your reasonable approach, I was able to recast my slow (and almost invisible) weight loss.  I realized that I am actually 28 pounds lighter than my highest recorded weight (which is not my highest weight), and even three pounds lighter than the last time I focused intensely on weight loss.

 I have been able to focus on what I am doing and what I am willing to do, and I am not beating myself up for not "filling in the boxes"  and counting every calorie (I am not there for now).  I have started journaling food choices and emotional connections and I feel that I am looking in the direction I wish to go.  THANK YOU!
